CHEESEBURGER HOAGIE SANDWICHES

Seasoned ground turkey mixed with your favorite burger toppings stuffed inside a hoagie bun toasted to yummy goodness and topped with sliced lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese.

This is a simple, fun, and delicious meal everybody will enjoy. It comes together quickly and looks gorgeous.

 

WHAT YOU NEED

hoagie bread
reduced-fat cheddar cheese
ground turkey
sweet onion
minced garlic
diced jalapeno
ketchup
salt
black pepper
yellow mustard
lettuce
tomato
cherry peppers

 

HOW TO MAKE IT

Preheat oven to 350. Heat a skillet on medium heat. Add the ground turkey onion, and garlic, and jalapeno and cook 8-10 minutes, or until no longer pink, breaking beef into crumbles, drain. Stir in ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, and cheese until cheese is melted. Remove skillet from heat.

Fill the hoagie bread evenly with beef mixture and place it on a baking sheet.

Top each with the remaining shredded cheese. Bake 6-8 minutes or until bread is toasted.

  • 6 hoagie buns
  • 1 cup reduced-fat cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup sweet onion (chopped)
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp diced jalapeno
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 2 tomato sliced
  • cherry peppers

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Heat a skillet on medium heat.
  • Add the ground turkey, onion, garlic, and jalapeno and cook for 10 minutes, breaking up the meat.
  • Drain the meat and return to the pan.
  • Stir in ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, and half the cheese until cheese is melted.
  • Fill the hoagie buns evenly with the beef mixture and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Top each one with the remaining cheese and bake 6-8 minutes or until bread is toasted and cheese me melted.
  • Top each sandwich with lettuce and tomatoes.
  • Serve with cherry peppers on the side.
