- 6 hoagie buns
- 1 cup reduced-fat cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1/2 cup sweet onion (chopped)
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp diced jalapeno
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 2 tomato sliced
- cherry peppers
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Heat a skillet on medium heat.
Add the ground turkey, onion, garlic, and jalapeno and cook for 10 minutes, breaking up the meat.
Drain the meat and return to the pan.
Stir in ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, and half the cheese until cheese is melted.
Fill the hoagie buns evenly with the beef mixture and place them on a baking sheet.
Top each one with the remaining cheese and bake 6-8 minutes or until bread is toasted and cheese me melted.
Top each sandwich with lettuce and tomatoes.
Serve with cherry peppers on the side.
