TURKEY SAUSAGE BREAKFAST BURRITO

Light and spicy turkey sausage breakfast burrito made with eggbeaters and sauteed veggies. wrapped in a heart-healthy wheat tortilla and served with salsa.

This classic breakfast burrito made healthy was a winner this morning at the breakfast table. It’s always a risk transforming something you already know and love, but not so good for you into something you don’t have to feel bad about eating. A heart-healthy breakfast burrito is a perfect way to start your day. These yummy burritos can be made ahead and frozen for a quick grab and go meal.

 

WHAT YOU NEED

cookings spray
turkey sausage
red bell pepper
sweet onion
baby spinach
jalapeno salt
ground red pepper
eggbeaters
wheat wraps
reduced-fat cheddar cheese
salsa

 

HOW TO MAKE IT

Heat large skillet to medium heat with cooking spray. Slice the bell pepper and onions. Sautee the onion, spinach, and bell peppers.

Season with the jalapeno salt and ground red pepper. Add the turkey sausage and brown separating with a meat chopper.

Add the eggbeaters and fold into the mixture scrapping the sides so the eggs don’t stick until the eggs are done.

Add the cheese and mix well.

Evenly distribute between 6 wheat wraps. Wrap well and place on a baking sheet.

Broil in the oven for 1 minute.

Cut in half. Spread salsa over top. Serve and enjoy

  • 8 oz eggbeaters
  • 6 wheat wraps
  • 1 cup reduced-fat cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup salsa

Instructions
