Spicy Meatball Subs

SPICY MEATBALL SUBS

These submarine-style Meatball sandwiches are a favorite around my house. Saucy Meatballs, Spicy melty Cheese on Toasted Hoagie Bread. These are super easy to make and oh so yummy. These are so simple to make, you can make enough for a family of four, or you could make multiple trays of them to make for a crowd. They are sure to please either way.

WHAT YOU NEED

Italian Meatballs
Pepperjack Cheese
Mozzarella Cheese
Marinara Sauce
Parmesan Cheese
Red Pepper Flakes
Butter
Minced Garlic
Salt
Hoagie Bread

 

HOW TO MAKE IT

Preheat the oven to 350. Line a baking sheet with tin foil. Layer the Italian Meatballs on the Baking Sheet. Bake them for 30 minutes. In a Sauce Pan heat the Marinara Sauce.  Shred the cheese, and mix in a bowl. Melt the butter in a small bowl and mix in the minced garlic, and salt. When the Meatballs are done baking add them to the sauce, mix well. Assemble the subs by spreading a spoon full of butter on the bottom bun. 4 meatballs to each hoagie bun with some sauce. Add some cheese mixture. Sprinkle red pepper flakes over the cheese. Spoon some butter mixture over the top of each sub. Layer on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Serve and enjoy.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bag Italian Meatballs
  • 8 oz pepper jack cheese (shredded)
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 3 tbsp parmesan cheese
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbs crushed pepper flakes

Instructions
 

  • preheat oven to 350
  • layer meatballs on a foil-lined baking sheet
  • bake for 30 minutes
  • in a saucepan heat the marinara sauce
  • shred the pepper jack cheese, and mozzarella cheese and mix in a bowl with the parmesan cheese
  • in a bowl melt butter with minced garlic, and salt
  • when the meatballs are done add them to the sauce
  • to assemble add a spoon full of butter mixture to the bottom each hoagie bun, four meatballs with some sauce, cheese mixture, spoon more butter over the top.
  • layer in a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
