Smoked Baked Beans
SMOKED BAKED BEANS
Delicious smokey baked beans made with crispy bacon, sauteed onion and spiced perfectly, for a mouth-watering smokey side dish.
These smoked baked beans are by far the best baked beans I have ever tried. It was another one of those moments at the dinner table that I had to make myself stop eating.
WHAT YOU NEED
sweet onion
bacon
diced jalapeno
baked beans
smoked paprika
ground red pepper
BBQ sauce
liquid smoke
jalapeno rings
HOW TO MAKE IT
In a large cast-iron dutch oven set on stove and heat to medium heat. Dice the onions, jalapeno, and bacon. Add to the heated dutch oven.
Cook stirring often until bacon starts to brown. about 30 minutes.
Add the baked beans, smoked paprika, ground red pepper, BBQ sauce, and liquid smoke. Continue cooking until heated through. Start the smoker and get it hot. Place jalapeno rounds over the top of the beans. Transfer the dutch oven from the stove to the smoker and continue cooking uncovered for 4 hours stirring occasionally to mix in the smokey flavor.
Serve and enjoy.

- 1 lb bacon (chopped)
- 1 tbsp jalapeno (diced)
- 55 oz baked beans
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp ground red pepper
- 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 tsp liquid smoke
