Smoked Baked Beans

Ingredients
  

  • 1 sweet onion (diced)
  • 1 lb bacon (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp jalapeno (diced)
  • 55 oz baked beans
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp ground red pepper
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke

Instructions
 

  • In a large cast-iron dutch oven set on stove and heat to medium heat. 
  • Dice the onions, jalapeno, and bacon. Add to the heated dutch oven.  
  • Cook stirring often until bacon starts to brown. about 30 minutes. 
  • Add the baked beans, smoked paprika, ground red pepper, BBQ sauce, and liquid smoke. 
  • Continue cooking until heated through.
  •  Start the smoker and get it hot. 
  • Place jalapeno rounds over the top of the beans. 
  • Transfer the dutch oven from the stove to the smoker and continue cooking uncovered for 4 hours stirring occasionally to mix in the smokey flavor. 
  • Serve and enjoy.
