Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. Italian sausage
  • 9 oz. oven-ready lasagna noodles
  • 24 oz. marinara sauce
  • 1 cup fresh basil
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 15 oz. ricotta cheese
  • 1 lb. mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the beef & sausage, breaking it up until fully cooked, drain the excess fat.
  • Stir in the marinara sauce until mixed well, and set aside.
  • In a medium bow, combine the ricotta cheese, half the mozzarella, parmesan, egg, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Fold together until mixed well.
  • Spread half cup of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish-lay 3 oven-ready lasagna noodles over it as your foundation.
  • Top the noodles with half cup of meat sauce, 3/4 cup of the cheese mixture, and a handful of spinach, and 1/4 cup mozzarella. Repeat this layering for 3 more layers, making sure to completely cover the last layer of noodles with cheese and marinara..
  • Place the uncovered lasagna in the smoker at 200F, and cook for 15 minutes.
  • Cover the lasagna with foil, increase the smoker temperature to 450 and cook for 40 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and cook for another 20 minutes.
  • Let the lasagna rest for 15 minutes before serving.
  • Serve and enjoy.
