Szechuan Shrimp
SZECHUAN SHRIMP
Spicy shrimp stir-fry with fresh shitake mushrooms, broccoli, and bell peppers. Tossed well with noodles and Seasoned with Szechuan peppers, fresh ginger, and garlic.
This beautifully spiced shrimp stir-fry is so delicious. It’s a one-pot meal that will please the whole family.
WHAT YOU NEED
sesame oil
green onions
shitake mushrooms
broccoli florets
red bell pepper
minced garlic
raw shrimp
Szechuan peppers (fresh or ground, whatever you can find)
red pepper flakes
fresh ginger
tamari
lo mein noodles
sesame seeds
cilantro
HOW TO MAKE IT
Heat oil in a large skillet. (I use a wok) over medium-high. Boil water for pasta. Cook pasta according to package directions Slice the veggies. Add onions, mushrooms, broccoli, bell peppers and garlic.
Stir to coat with oil and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently, until broccoli is bright green.
Stir in shrimp, Szechuan peppers. Ginger, and red peppers flakes, cook for 1 minute.
Stir in tamari and 2 tsp water, and cook for 3 to 4 more minutes, stirring frequently, until shrimp is opaque and vegetables are tender.
Add up to 2 tbs water, if needed to prevent sticking. Toss the mixture together with noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and cilantro.
Szechuan Shrimp
Ingredients
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 3 green onion (sliced)
- 1 3/4 cups of shitake mushrooms
- broccoli florets (chopped)
- 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1/4 lb raw shrimp
- 1 tsp ground Szechuan pepper (fresh or ground whatever you can find)
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- ginger
- 2 tsp tamari or soy sauce
- 1 1/2 oz lo mein noodles
- 2 tsp black sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp fresh cilantro for garnish (chopped)
Instructions
